Greenwich
Private Residence, Greenwich

Built for James Stillman Rockefeller and Nancy Carnegie Rockefeller, the classic brick Georgian home had been purchased by our Client in it's original and unaltered 1930's condition. The layout of the home was geared toward an obsolete lifestyle. We reconfigured the spaces to work for every day living of a modern family. The heart of the project was relocating the kitchen from an isolated servant wing to the center of the home. Spaces were opened up to the new kitchen; creating a visual and physical connection. The former servants wing was repurposed into a billard room with guest quarters above. Modern materials are interwoven seamlessly within the traditional framework of the house. Although the entire 20,000 sqft home was renovated in it's entirety, we were careful to restore and preserve the components that make it unique.
